What to Expect During a Reiki Session
Reiki is a deeply relaxing and transformative experience that is tailored to your unique needs. From the moment you enter the room, you will feel a sense of calm and peace, setting the stage for a session that nurtures your body, mind, and spirit.
Arrival and Preparation:
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed into a tranquil space designed to put you at ease. I’ll take a few moments to discuss any specific areas of concern or intentions you might have for the session. This brief conversation ensures that your experience is personalised and aligned with your current needs.
The Session:
You will be invited to lie down fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table. A soft blanket will be provided to enhance your comfort. The session begins with a few moments of quiet to help you settle into the space and prepare for the energy work. I will then take you through a short breathwork and meditative session to help you to relax.
As the Reiki session begins, I will gently place my hands on or just above your body in specific positions. These positions correspond to energy centers known as chakras, or areas where you may be experiencing physical or emotional discomfort. The touch is light and non-invasive, and many clients describe the sensation as a warm, comforting energy flowing through them.
During the session, you may experience different sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing in the areas where my hands are placed. These sensations are a natural part of the Reiki process and indicate the movement of energy through your body. Some clients also report feeling deeply relaxed, seeing colours, or having a sense of floating. These experiences are unique to each individual and are all part of the healing process.
Post-Session:
After the session, we will take a few moments to discuss any feelings or insights you may have experienced. This is a time for you to ask questions or share anything that came up during the session. It’s also an opportunity to receive guidance on how to continue supporting your well-being at home, such as through mindfulness practices, gentle exercises, or other holistic methods.
Many clients leave a Reiki session feeling refreshed, balanced, and more in tune with themselves. The effects of Reiki can continue to unfold over the following days, bringing about a deeper sense of peace, clarity, and emotional resilience.
